Damascus Steel Wedding Ring with Black Zirconium Liner and Edges
This handmade Damascus steel wedding ring combines an etched, patterned steel centre with a Black Zirconium inner liner and matching black outer edges. The dark edges frame the Damascus pattern, while the black interior completes the contrast. Made to order by Graeme in our Aberdeenshire workshop, it is a distinctive alternative wedding band with two materials working together.
Damascus steel framed in Black Zirconium
The central Damascus section is made from layered 304L and 316L stainless steels. Etching reveals the contrasting grain within the metal, giving each ring its own variation in pattern. Black Zirconium forms the inner liner and the outer edges, creating a defined border around the patterned steel.
The black surface of Zirconium is formed through a controlled heat-treatment process, rather than applied as black paint or plating. The combination makes this a particularly striking choice if you're looking for a Damascus steel wedding ring with black edges or a black-lined Damascus wedding band.
Choose your Damascus pattern
There are six patterns to choose from. Findon has a straighter, linear grain; Crynoch shows flowing movement from a gentle twist; Esk has a tight, detailed grain; and Bervie has our most condensed pattern. Dee features irregular concentric shapes, while Cowie has more structured circular formations.

Made by Graeme in Scotland
Graeme makes and machines the ring, prepares the Damascus and Black Zirconium components, and finishes each band by hand. The finished ring is made to your selected size, pattern, width and surface finish. It is not a mass-produced ring with a printed Damascus effect.
Width and finish
This liner-and-edge design is available in 6mm or 7mm widths, proportions chosen to leave room for both the Damascus centre and black detailing. Choose a polished finish for stronger reflections or satin for a softer, brushed appearance. The two finishes change how the pattern catches the light without changing the underlying materials.
Engraving, sizing and delivery
Standard internal engraving is included if selected. The Black Zirconium liner provides a smooth interior for engraving. For handwriting engraving, please contact us first to check suitability and available space. We offer a free ring sizer to help confirm your size before making begins, and UK delivery is free and tracked.
Care and materials
Clean gently with mild soap and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?
There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. What is the thickness of the ring?
Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.
How can I check my size before ordering?
There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.

What happens after I place my order?
After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.
How long does it take to make a ring?
Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.
Is engraving included?

Who actually makes my ring?
Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.
What are your return policies?
Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
