Damascus Steel Wedding Ring with Precious Metal Inlay
Distinctive patterned steel, finished with a fine line of precious metal. This Damascus steel wedding ring with a genuine 1mm precious metal inlay is made to order by Graeme in our Aberdeenshire workshop. Choose the pattern, metal, width and finish that feel right for you.
Choose your precious metal
The precisely machined channel is fitted with your choice of 925 silver, palladium, platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct rose gold or 18ct white gold. Warm gold stands out against the etched Damascus pattern; silver and white-toned metals create a quieter contrast. The inlay is solid precious metal, not a plated or painted stripe.
Six Damascus steel patterns
Choose from Esk, Bervie, Crynoch, Findon, Cowie or Dee. Each pattern has its own character, and the layered steel means no two finished rings look exactly alike. Our Damascus pattern guide can help you compare the designs before ordering.
Made to order in Scotland
Graeme machines the ring from layered 304L and 316L stainless Damascus steel, cuts the inlay channel, fits the precious metal and finishes the band. The steel is etched to bring its distinctive pattern into view. Your ring is made for your chosen specifications rather than taken from a shelf.
Choose your width and finish
Select a width from 4mm to 8mm and choose a polished or satin-matte finish. The narrow precious metal line adds a deliberate detail while leaving the Damascus pattern centre stage.
Ring sizing and engraving
A complimentary ring sizer is available to help you confirm your size. Standard internal engraving is free. For engraving, the Damascus pattern is polished away from the inside of the band to create a smooth, legible area for your inscription. If you have handwriting you'd like us to reproduce, please contact us first so we can check suitability and space.
Delivery and care
UK tracked delivery is included. To clean your ring, use mild soap, warm water and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaning products.

Ordering & Making Your Ring
What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?
There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. What is the thickness of the ring?
Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.
How can I check my size before ordering?
There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.

What happens after I place my order?
After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.
How long does it take to make a ring?
Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.
Is engraving included?
Engraving is always free. We can add names, dates, or even your own handwriting inside your wedding ring. To know more about handwriting engraving, take a look at this blog. . If the option is showing on the product listing, it is engravable.
Who actually makes my ring?
Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.
What are your return policies?
Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
