Some jewellery is far too meaningful to leave tucked away in a box. Our Titanium Ring with Heirloom Precious Metal Inlay gives treasured family metal a new place in your life, incorporating it into a handmade ring you can carry with you.

Perhaps it's a parent's wedding band, a grandparent's ring or a piece of jewellery that holds memories of someone special. The original precious metal becomes part of a new titanium ring, preserving that personal connection in a design made especially for you.

Each ring is made to order in our Aberdeenshire workshop by Graeme, who machines the titanium band and personally prepares and fits your heirloom precious metal inlay.

Your own precious metal, given a new form

Your supplied heirloom jewellery is carefully melted and drawn into fine, round wire. Graeme then fits that wire into a 1mm channel within the titanium band, creating a precise line of precious metal against the clean, contemporary finish of the ring.

The metal in the inlay comes from your own jewellery, making the finished ring much more than a combination of materials. It's a way to keep a family connection or important memory close while creating something that reflects your own style.

Any unused material is returned with your finished ring, whether as remaining wire, offcuts or reclaimed metal.

Important information about heirloom metal

Older jewellery can vary considerably in its alloy composition and condition. Previous repairs, solder joins or mixed metals can affect how the material behaves when melted and drawn into wire.

We cannot guarantee that every heirloom piece can be successfully processed into a usable inlay. In some cases, we will only discover whether the metal is suitable once processing has begun.

If your metal cannot be successfully made into usable wire, we will return your material and refund your order minus £150, which covers workshop time and processing. Please consider this carefully before ordering, particularly if the original piece has significant sentimental value.

Handmade titanium, finished to your specifications

Graeme machines each titanium ring to your chosen size and width, prepares the 1mm inlay channel and personally fits the precious metal. Titanium is lightweight and corrosion resistant, providing a clean setting that allows the heirloom metal to stand out.

Choose your preferred ring width and finish through the product options, and add internal engraving if you'd like a personal inscription.

Processing your heirloom metal and sending your jewellery

Preparing and working with your own precious metal requires additional processing, so this design takes longer than our usual making time. We'll discuss the process with you before your jewellery is sent.

After ordering, we'll email instructions for safely packaging and sending your heirloom jewellery to our workshop. Please make sure you receive these instructions before posting your piece.

Engraving, sizing and delivery

Standard internal engraving is included if selected. For handwriting engraving, please contact us first to check suitability and space. A free ring sizer is available to confirm your size before making begins, and free tracked UK delivery is included with your finished ring.

Titanium is corrosion resistant and hypoallergenic. A titanium ring can be removed by a professional in an emergency if necessary.

Care

Clean gently with mild soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth.
