Damascus Steel Wedding Ring with Black Zirconium Liner
From the outside, this wedding ring shows the distinctive grain of etched Damascus steel. Inside is a solid Black Zirconium liner: a contrasting dark interior that becomes visible when the ring is taken off. It's a subtle way to combine two alternative metals without changing the character of the patterned steel exterior.
Every Damascus steel ring with Black Zirconium liner is made to order by Graeme in our Aberdeenshire workshop, with your choice of Damascus pattern, profile and finish.
A patterned steel exterior with a black interior
The outer band uses layered 304L and 316L stainless steels, etched to reveal the Damascus pattern. The inner liner is genuine Black Zirconium, with its dark surface formed through a controlled heat-treatment process rather than black paint or plating.
Unlike a ring with black outer edges, this design keeps the patterned Damascus steel as the main visible feature when worn. The dark liner provides a contrasting interior.
Six Damascus patterns to choose from
Select from Findon, with straighter grain; Crynoch, with a flowing twisted appearance; Esk, with tightly detailed lines; or Bervie, our most condensed pattern. Dee creates irregular concentric shapes, while Cowie has more structured circular forms.

Handmade in our Scottish workshop
Graeme machines and makes each ring, fits the Black Zirconium liner and finishes the completed band by hand. Your chosen Damascus pattern, size, profile and finish are all part of the making process. The result is a custom Damascus wedding ring with a genuine contrasting metal interior.
Choose your profile and finish
Choose a traditional Court profile for a rounded outer shape or a Flat profile for a straighter, more contemporary look. A polished finish gives the Damascus pattern brighter reflections, while satin produces a softer brushed appearance. Both profiles are finished with a smooth interior for comfortable wear.
Engraving, sizing and delivery
Standard engraving can be added inside the Black Zirconium liner if selected. For handwriting engraving, contact us first to check suitability and space. We offer a free ring sizer so you can confirm your size before making begins. Free tracked UK delivery is included.
Care and materials
Clean with mild soap and warm water and dry using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaning products.

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?
There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. What is the thickness of the ring?
Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.
How can I check my size before ordering?
There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.

What happens after I place my order?
After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.
How long does it take to make a ring?
Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.
Is engraving included?

Who actually makes my ring?
Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.
What are your return policies?
Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
