Titanium Personal Material Inlay Ring

Incorporate a meaningful material of your own into a bespoke titanium ring. From sand collected on a special beach to a small piece of wood or stone, this made-to-order design lets you carry a personal connection in a 1mm or 2mm inlay. All materials must be assessed for suitability before ordering.

Every ring is created to order in our Aberdeenshire workshop. Graeme machines and finishes the titanium band, while Katie carefully prepares your supplied material and creates the inlay by hand. The result is a deeply personal piece of jewellery with a connection to a place, person or moment that matters.

We ask that you contact us before placing an order. Tell us what you'd like to include and, if possible, send a photograph of the material. We'll check whether it's suitable, discuss how it could be incorporated and confirm the price before you go ahead.

What personal materials can we use?

Depending on suitability, we can work with a wide range of meaningful materials, including sand, shell, stone, wood and crystal. Perhaps you've kept a little sand from where you got engaged, collected a stone on a memorable trip or saved a piece of timber from somewhere important to your family.

Every material is different, and we assess each request individually. If you have something unusual in mind, please ask — we'll be happy to look into what's possible.

Choose a 1mm or 2mm personal material inlay

A 1mm channel creates a fine, understated line of your chosen material through the titanium. The 2mm channel offers a wider feature, giving the inlay more visual presence.

Katie prepares the material and carefully creates the inlay within the channel. For suitable materials, the inlay is sealed beneath a smooth, clear resin finish. If your material requires a different approach, we'll explain that when discussing your request.

The natural appearance of your material helps shape the finished design. Variations in colour and texture mean each ring has its own character, and we can discuss any particular detail you'd like us to try to retain.

Optional metallic accents

Optional copper, 925 silver, palladium or 24ct gold flakes can be included alongside suitable personal materials for an additional detail. Or keep the inlay entirely focused on the material you've supplied.

How much material should you send?

Preparing your supplied material may require extra work, so bespoke personal material rings can take longer than our usual making time. We'll discuss any special preparation with you before proceeding.

Only a small amount is usually needed — typically no more than a grape-sized quantity. We'll advise you on what to send once we've discussed your material. Any unused material will be carefully returned with your finished ring.

You'll be responsible for the cost of sending your material to our workshop. Once your order is arranged, we'll provide the details you need to send it safely. For more information, read our guide to sending personal materials for your ring.

Handmade titanium, finished in Scotland

Graeme machines the titanium band to your selected size and prepares the inlay channel before Katie works with your chosen material. Titanium is lightweight and corrosion resistant, providing a clean, contemporary setting for an inlay with a very personal story.

Choose your preferred ring width and finish through the product options, once we've confirmed that your material is suitable.

Engraving, sizing and UK delivery

Standard internal engraving is included if selected. For handwriting engraving, please contact us first to check suitability and space. A free ring sizer is available to confirm your size before making begins, and free tracked UK delivery is included with your finished ring.

Care

Clean gently with mild soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth. We'll explain any material-specific care considerations when confirming your bespoke design.

Titanium is corrosion resistant and hypoallergenic, and a titanium ring can be removed by a professional in an emergency if necessary.
